I bought this primarily to hold my iPad at a more comfortable angle for drawing, and it works perfectly. It's sturdy and has a smooth surface that's comfortable to work on. In particular, the elastic band is surprisingly helpful because it really keeps the iPad stable even at a higher levels of incline (I don't wrap it over the iPad, but just resting the iPad on top of it is enough to get this benefit). Very pleased with the purchase.
