Versatile and well built

There are lots of versions of this type of box easel out there. I bought this one because it was the smallest size I could find, making it even more portable and light weight. I was happy to find it is also well built, looks great, and functions perfectly. Holds a 16 x 20 canvas panel or stretched canvas with no problems (haven't tried larger). For a 9 x 12 in landscape orientation, I have to tape it to a larger board to use the top canvas holder, but I knew that from the stated dimensions and

it's an easy fix to drill a few more holes to raise the bottom support as needed. The thumb screw hinges hold the easel very firmly between 90 and 45 degrees - I haven't used it lower than that. The gripper feet are very sturdy and keep the box stable on my plexiglass-covered table. Wood is good quality, but I will polyurethane the top and bottom boards to give them added protection and keep them looking beautiful. Holds surprising amount of supplies for the size. Great for at home use and for travel. I would buy this again easily, especially for the excellent price.
